Thanks Borni for the post. Your answer was helpful. But then I am only able to edit the lower level menus. If I need to change a main menu like Sales to something like Customer Billing how do I go about it. I will appreciate your assistance

generally all terms exist in this list.search in filtre Translated field ='ir.ui.menu,name' For example menu Customers you can search source =Customers ,Translated field ='ir.ui.menume'.

also you can see all menus in Settings--Technical--User Interface--Menu Items then you can translate menu in the liste
