Hello,
I'm new to Odoo. I downloaded the Odoo 16 community version inventory application and would like to customize it to fit the company's needs.
In our warehouse, for a specific product X, we don't own all the stock. Some units are owned by other companies but stored in our warehouse.
For example, let's say we have product X, and we received around 1000 units of it, each with a unique serial number. The ownership of these units is divided as follows:
200 units for company A
300 units for company B
400 units for company C
Only 100 units belong to our company.
Each company owns a certain number of units, but they don't have specific serial numbers assigned. So, when a company places an order, we can take any unit from the total units available and deduct it from their owned units. For example, if company A requests a shipment of 20 units from our warehouse, we can take any 20 units and update their remaining owned units to 180.
I want to implement this logic in Odoo Inventory and have tried creating locations in the warehouse, with each location dedicated to a specific company. However, I'm facing a problem because I don't know how to instruct Odoo to deduct the number of units from the total owned units whenever a company places an order.
My question is: Is it possible to achieve this functionality in Odoo? If not, do you have any ideas on how I can add this customization?
Any idea or help will be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
@Sandip Could you please tell me what functionalities are already available in Odoo for this matter?
Since I have no budget for this project, I'm not interested in investing in any kind of non-free application.
I appreciate your help and look forward to hearing back from you.
