I'm new in openERP. I'm using v7. One feature of openERP is scrap, for example when I delivering product. What is scrap for? And at what conditions should I use it?

Scrap is for scraping defect products.
Could you explain it furthermore?
In the company I work for, a wine company, we use scraping function for broken bottles after a stock transfer, or corked wine after a sale.
