Hello. I work need to work multi currency, my base country uses MXN, i enabled multi currency in Odoo v16
My suppliers send equipment pricing in USD
I would like to load products in USD, and then i assume,... create a pricelist that converts USD to MXN with the daily rate .
This way the i Quotes are sent out in MXN converted to the daily exchange rate.
But im unsure if I should change the default company currency to USD or leave MXN?
how does this work? all pointers and suggestions are welcomed
You can keep the company currency as MXN since you need all the reports in that base currency. Make sure you are updating the rates in the currency before making any transactions. So, whenever any transactions happen in USD, the rate will be posted in your base currency automatically by Odoo.
Price-list is the best option you can use for this.

I kept the default company currency as MXN as suggested.
I updated all the product COST to their value in USD.
But i think Odoo thinks products are COST in MXN
Because when i create a Pricelist in USD the calculation is wrong
and if i use a Priceslist in MXN I get the the same price, it handles them 1:1
Is there a way to assign a currency to products?
