From back-end we can set custom filter in xml with dates configured as Today/This Month as such. But I need to have custom filter shown default with From/To dates as Input. I want this filter to ask by default.

I don't imagine how can you input for a configured filter, but can this be solved by using the "add custom filter" and select the date range for the field?

Yes, that's how client is using so far.
Issue is, client is an accounting firm who inturn have lots of reports to be shared to their end clients based on custom dates on all accounting pages(invoice/bills/payment/JEs). Probably 50 times a day.
So every time they have to click add custom filter button to give from and to dates. So they wanted the starting point of filter to be asking from and to date.
Anyway we created wizard for most used reports with from and to dates as input.
