Hi, 


Not all the customers show up in the search module in point of sale. 

open ticket -> select customer: search name in search button -> often no result 


How can we make sure all customers do show up in the search option?

In Odoo POS, not all customers appear by default to maintain system speed. Here is the concise breakdown of why and how to fix it:

1. "Limited Customer Loading" (Most Common)

Odoo limits the number of customers downloaded to the browser to prevent the POS from lagging.

  • Fix: Go to Point of Sale > Configuration > Settings.

  • Find Limited Customer Loading and either uncheck it or increase the limit.

2. Search on Server

If a customer isn't loaded locally, the POS won't find them instantly.

  • Fix: After typing the name, look for an option like "Search more..." or "Search on Server" in the dropdown. This queries the full database.

3. Multi-Company Restrictions

If a customer is assigned to "Company A," they won't show up in a POS belonging to "Company B."

  • Fix: Open the Customer profile in the backend and ensure the Company field is either empty (Global) or matches the POS company.

4. Sync & Cache

New customers created in the backend might not appear until the POS refreshes.

  • Fix: Simply Refresh (F5) the POS page to force a data sync.
