Odoo limits the number of customers downloaded to the browser to prevent the POS from lagging.
Fix: Go to Point of Sale > Configuration > Settings.
Find Limited Customer Loading and either uncheck it or increase the limit.
If a customer isn't loaded locally, the POS won't find them instantly.
Fix: After typing the name, look for an option like "Search more..." or "Search on Server" in the dropdown. This queries the full database.
If a customer is assigned to "Company A," they won't show up in a POS belonging to "Company B."
Fix: Open the Customer profile in the backend and ensure the Company field is either empty (Global) or matches the POS company.
New customers created in the backend might not appear until the POS refreshes.
Fix: Simply Refresh (F5) the POS page to force a data sync.
