What happens when module installation fails, for example, because of error in view layer? Will odoo create new module structure and demo data in DB?
What happens with module structure when I press "cancel istall"? When does Odoo erase new data and fields of new and inherited modules?
To my knowledge, if module installation fails at any point, Odoo will roll back any potential changes. So module remains completely uninstalled, but the state of the module is "To Install", which is why you see the option to "Cancel Install". "Cancel Install" only means to unmark the module to be installed whenever another module is installed or whenever the server restarts.
