Dear community,


I’m using Odoo for retails. I confused consumable with service product type.

There are 2 cases:

- case 1: customer by warranty when purchasing new product 

>> comsumable product

- case 2: customer bring broken product to use warranty services

>> service product


Please help me to choose product type for 2 cases, can I use service product type for both 2 cases.

Hi 

let summarize what i understand from your post 

you want to configure a warranty service for your customer , you can create a product with type ( Service ) not consumable type 

Consumable is for Food staff for exmaple

i would use subscription module(warranty would be subs for certain period), service type off course.
