My company has an official name and a brand name. I keep it's name in odoo official so that it comes out correctly on reporting. But when I send email messages to my contacts they also get the official name coming up as the name of the sender. How do I make the brand name show up instead?

Hello,
To change or add a name when sending an e-mail, you can edit the “From” field in the email configuration tab for the specified email template you wish to modify. Adjust it to your needs
"{{ object.company_id.name }}" <{{ (object.company_id.email or user.email) }}>
6 years later and they still don't have an answer for this
Go to Settings - > Emails - > Templates and edit those that you want to have other thing shown in From field. For having individuals name simply leave it empty.
Everything under the 'Email Configuration' is empty and I tried filling in some fields but nothing changed. I'm sure it's the right template as the content corresponds with what I'm seeing on the emails and no other template matches. Perhaps I'll put this on hold though - I think someone may have set up a custom mail server and this could be overriding the Odoo options. Thanks for the response!
