is it possible to automatically reserve the materials on a production order / manufacturing order after it's creation?

We print those out in bulk for production so far. Therefore we want to eliminate any extra clicks. It is also the case that we have little amounts of certain materials in stock. Before confirming a sales order, we look up how much of the needed materials we have at which warehouse and then choose the routes. After that the needed materials must be reserved, so we see how much is really available.

Is it maybe possible to add some python code to an automated action? Or is there an app for that?
