Hello there :)

is it possible to automatically reserve the materials on a production order / manufacturing order after it's creation?

We print those out in bulk for production so far. Therefore we want to eliminate any extra clicks. It is also the case that we have little amounts of certain materials in stock. Before confirming a sales order, we look up how much of the needed materials we have at which warehouse and then choose the routes. After that the needed materials must be reserved, so we see how much is really available.

Is it maybe possible to add some python code to an automated action? Or is there an app for that?

We use Odoo 14 Enterprise by the way.

Sounds like you just need to activate the scheduler. It can be found in your list of scheduled actions. Once activated, it will check periodically if stock needs to be reserved / reordered and creates the reservation or rfq.

You a right! It works! But it does not necessarily solve our problem, because when I have to decide where to manufacture rarely sold product, lets say the red one from the red material, and I have two or more of such orders, it might happen, that both manufacturing orders are for facility 1, even though there is not enough material red left for both.
Is it dangerous to run the scheduler, lets say, every 15 minutes?

It depends how many open orders and reordering rules / and products you have. but usually, once every 15 minutes shouldn't be a problem
