I have been using Odoo with lots for manufacturing lately, but I am starting to find it too tedious to work with.

This is because all the steps of opening the pop-up window for each product in the BoM and then having to select the lot and quantity consumed. If this was done directly on the BoM line it would be fine, but like this it is horrible.

This is the current workflow for each item:

*sorry if the pictures are in spanish, hope that you can still understand

I was wondering if there is any way to auto complete all those quantities and lots based on the FIFO mechanic, because most of the times the quantities dont vary from the expected ones, and the lot is already known to Odoo.

So this is getting really time consuming and I was wondering if someone has already done something about this, or at least some hints on how to custom program it myself.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Michael,

Still, when  you check the availability what it does it reserving the necessary stock, but it does not automatically fill the "consumed" quantities (and for this you need to open the new window and fill it there, because on the BoM line you can't write directly when lots are used).

Hope you can understand the problem

Thanks for the response by the way!

Greetings,

Alejandro

Hi Alejandro,

If you are in version 16, in Inventory > Configuration > Operation Types, select "Manufacturing" and then you can tick the check-box below:

I hope it helps.

Hello Alejandro,

if you use the button "Check Availability" it will populate the Serial Number by following FIFO.

So would give this a try.

Thanks and greetings

Hello Alejandro,
you are welcome.
If you have done the "Check Availability" and all is reserved you can just click on "Mark As Done" and the consumed quantity is set automatically. Have you tried this?
Thanks and greetings

Yes, but as soon as you modify one line manually, or if you work with operations and start one, this method of marking as done does not work anymore.
It assumes that because you modified something, you also want to modify everything else, so it stays as 0 consumed

Hello Alejandro,
in that case maybe an automated action may help to set the consumed quantity per default to 1.
If this will not work than you have to think about a customization.
Thanks and greetings
Michael

Hi,
There is a module by OCA that lets you auto fill quantities in picking operations and auto assignment lots quantitieshttps://apps.odoo.com/apps/modules/16.0/stock_move_line_auto_fill/
Please check if this meets your requirements.

This is somewhat what I want, yes. For the picking operations it does the job, but it does not seem to be configured to work with lots on a manufacturing order.

Thanks for the info!
