In previous versions it was possible to set up a structure with ‘parent’ and ‘child’ companies to share data from child company to parent company.

Since this function has been removed in v13, what is the function of "parent company" or how to share data to parent company?

Thanks Waleed but the only mention in the documentation about "parent company" is: "If a Parent Company is selected, records are shared between the two companies (as long as both environments are active)", and this behavior also occurs without defining a parent company!

Data such as Products, Contacts, and Equipment can be shared or set to be shown for a specific company only. To do so, on their forms, choose between:
A blank field: the record is shared within all companies.
Adding a company: the record is visible to users logged in to that specific company.

I've researched it and based on the information that I gathered I presume that the parent company field is not for any functional use other than the informational purposes.
