Hi, I have an issue in Manufacturing mode:
when I activate a new MO from a parent BoM Odoo should automatically trigger child-BoMs to manufacture semi-finished products. It doesn't always happen - why is that? The semi-finished products are not available on stock, so they should appear in the manufacturing schedule. I can't figure out why they sometimes do and sometimes don't.
Has anyone got a similar case?
You may want to check if the preferred route (manufacturing) and trigger (auto) are set without any conflicts for the semi-finished products (child BOM).
Inventory > Operations > Replenishments
When MO for a parent BOM is created, the replenishment for an unavailable semi-finished product would be visible on this view.
At a product level (Semi-finished) it is not unusual to have more than 1 route configured to replenish (manufacture or buy for example). You could validate this by checking if the times the flow works is consistent for the same set of semi-finished products and similarly, a set of semi-finished products where the flow don't work.

Jaideep, I launched an MO for next parent BOM and again the situation is the same - no triggered MOs for child BOMs. They are not visible on the Inventory Replenishement list as well.
The only route for the semi-finished products is production. I have a few semi-finished products produced now, but all are reserved for another complete product, so "0" is available. Do you have any advice ..?

If a MO for semi-finished product wasn't created nor a replenishment, could indicate no demand.
1. You could validate if the semi-finished product has been reserved on all other MO's making the availability '0'
2. On the current parent MO, are the reservations done? And what is the status of for this component (semi-finished) product.
Also, my suggestion would be to create a test case to isolate if the behavior is with reservation or routing.
1. make the stock '0' for this semi-finished product
2. Create a new Parent MO
Validate if the child MO is being creating on confirming & reservation of the parent MO.
