I'm new to ODoo and trying to set up my company to accomplish a workflow. 

If anyone has a similar model that they can offer suggestions, I'm all ears! 

I own a Marathon Race Photography Company (We take pictures of runners and send them links to buy from a special 3rd party website). 

I have multiple customers that book us throughout the year to shoot their races. Sometimes I invoice these customers a setup fee based on the number of participants (there is a minimum participant requirement)

 

These races have connections to other companies such as a bib timing company (I get data files from them), or promoters and marketing for my and their logos for artwork. 

 

I use partner photographers that photograph these races for me and need to communicate  which races they are available to photograph, as well as receive reminders that their race shoots are coming up. (And maybe update their hours??), I want to see  these on a calendar and possibly show this calendar on my Odoo website?

 

So I need these races to have all the information related to each event: Date, Time, Address, Website, Customer Contact, Timing Company, Marketing Company, files related to the race like Logos, Contracts, and notes. This view should show the list of photographers assigned to the race as well, so I know I am staffed for race day.

 

The Race would need a Kanban funnel,i.e. (New Race, Setting Up, Photographers Assigned, Uploading Images, Done), plus tasks for me and the photographers so they know they have a shoot coming up, need to send me their invoce etc.

 

It would seem that a custom App that has Projects as a core may be a good start, I was also looking at the Service App as maybe something I could clone and modify? I’m trying to minimize coding as I had to do a lot of that from ZOHO and not a fan. :-)

 

Keep in mind I am a single user, I don’t have Employees, just contract photographers that would not necessarily log onto the portal, but I would have them as contacts and most likely have a "Photographer" tag on them so I can filter the one2Many linked partner field. (Same for Timing, Promotors, etc. tags)

You might want to evaluate Odoo's event management App, a lot of your requirements maybe available as default.

Track event details; customer/ attendee management; photographers/ speaker management via event tracks; communications/ automated reminders; Kanban view to define stages for event as well as speaker (photographers) management; event website et all
