hi, we have two warehouses in our database; warehouse 1 and warehouse 2. warehouse 1 is setup with 3 step manufacturing. when we create a manufacturing order in warehouse 1, we first want to search warehouse 1 for stock. if there is not sufficient stock in warehouse 1 we would like the route to search warehouse 2. Ideally the manufacturing order would create a picking list for both warehouses where the relevant products can be picked from and then transferred into our pre-production location

You could modify the 3 step manufacting route to include the additional rule.

Navigate to Inventory > Configuration > Routes

Select the 3 step manufacturing route for WH1

1. Create additional rule - (click add a line)

Action - Pull from 
Operation - WH2 Internal Transfer
Source location - WH2/Stock
Destination - Wh1/Stock
Supply method - Take from Stock

Save and close, move the rule to the top

2 Modify supply method of existing rule WH1/Stock to WH1/ Pre-Product

Supply method - Take from Stock, if unavailable trigger another rule

This would create a picking list for WH2 for products not available in WH1 to be transferred to WH1.
