Is it mandatory to restart and upgrade the odoo module after making changes . Is there any option to work without upgrading and restarting

Hi,
Once you make changes in the python codes the service has to be restarted in order to get the latest changes, for the xml changes the restart of the odoo service is not needed, just upgrading the module is needed.
If you feel the above steps are difficult to follow, i will suggest you better to get into it.
The other options you have is:
Configure odoo and watchdog, so service will get automatically restarted based on the changes you made, see:
