The latest PosBox campaign update refered to upcoming features for bars and restaurants.  Is there any information on when this will be released?  Is there a branch for this on GitHub?

@George, I think there are some developments happening in odoo-dev, specifically the 8.0-pos-restaurant-fva branch: https://github.com/odoo-dev/odoo/tree/8.0-pos-restaurant-fva I've just seen features being added for table management that will allow a visual map/floorplan with tables among a few other things. I think there will likely be an announcement from Odoo R&D on twitter/facebook soon announcing some of the features they are adding.

Here's a couple of screenshots: https://cloud.githubusercontent.com/assets/2337666/5407494/e740a662-8202-11e4-9990-2e7fe847fc33.png https://cloud.githubusercontent.com/assets/2337666/5407495/e7445d84-8202-11e4-9f52-282005844e8a.png

I think the POS project is currently suitable for retail shops and the like, but it would be great if it could emulate the functionality of POS systems like MICROS and other robust systems to allow for functionality such as the following:

>> Recipes for drinks, food, etc. that can be created using portions of inventory (eg. 1.5 fl oz of vodka + 5oz of cranberry + 1/40 a bag of ice) and allow it to deduct those amounts from inventory to allow for accurate stock control, costing, wastage, etc.
>> Kitchen touchscreen support to allow for processing of pending orders, etc. And kitchen order printing to allow for kitchen to be notified by a printed double ply receipt printer. (eg. http://www.micros.com/Solutions/ProductsAM/KitchenDisplaySystems/)
>> Table management system with GUI to allow for a visual layout of tables, chairs, etc. and split bill on those tables and colour changes on table status (eg. bill printed = red) (eg. http://www.micros.com/Solutions/ProductsNZ/TableManagementSolution/)
>> 360 degree control of guest information to allow for loyalty programs throughout a network of restaurants, bars, etc. and to allow for reward of return visitors (eg. http://www.micros.com/Solutions/ProductsAM/GuestServiceSolutionGSS/). I think this would integrate very nicely with the marketing module, e-commerce/CMS module, etc.
>> Menu boards (eg. http://www.micros.com/Solutions/ProductsAM/DigitalSignageAndMenuBoards/)

The POS module is already awesome and very useful, however if it wants to enter the food and beverage arena it will need to add more functionality suitable for food and beverage outlets. I can see an integrated system with accounting, inventory management, POS, E-Commerce, CMS, etc. being incredibly useful for restaurant and bar owners and the current available software and hardware can be a huge investment. Giving a restaurant owner a 360 degree view of his or her business in real time distributed over many locations is something I think many restaurant and bar owners would definitely be interested in.
