outgoing mails stopped by gmail

Question

For "on premises" odoo,We had successfully configured a gmail account in outgoing mail server. Now google has stopped the enabling of "Less Secure Apps" option in google account settings.
What could be the alternate option of same kind that we can use for configuring outgoing mails now ?

Google made updates to the security measures related to app access, so you will not be able to use password. You need to use App Passwords.
In your Google account: Go to Manage your Google Account and select Security:
Turn on 2-Step Verification. Once the 2-Step Verification turned on, the app passwords option will be enabled and it will be shown under 2-step verification. Click on App passwords and create an App password and copy the 16 digits password which you got. Use that 16 digits instead

Hello Muhammad Moin,

This problem is generated due to use of actual username and password of email.
Nowadays, outgoing mail server uses application password of your gmail account.
To generate this application password please follow below steps :
1. Enable 2-step verification.
2. After turning on 2-step verification, App password will be available.
3. Generate a new app password from there and use this generated password to configure
outgoing mail server.
