I want to use the production module for planning work orders and would like to add an estimated time for the production. After the creation, I want to be able to see the planning in a calendar. Is there a module, option or workaround to do this? The best would be adding the production order automatically to  the standard calendar module.

It is default view in Odoo. You can navigate to it from Manufacturing > Operations > Work Orders and then select calendar view (Calendar icon, below the search field top right of the screen). Similarly the calendar view is available for manufacturing orders as well.

The estimated time can be provided in the BOM, 'operations' tab

You could also use the planning view Manufacturing > Planning > Planning by work center

This is a pretty good solution, for the calendar part. But I am wondering, is this the only way to show the production orders? I would like to see it mixed with my other calendar events, if possible. For the  last  part,  t here is only "Run scheduler" under the Planning tab, but that is not a problem.

You can consolidate multiple views on to a 'dashboard'. For example you could view planned MOs in calendar view along side 'delivery orders' and/or your calendar by adding to dashboard (click on * Favorites) the filtered & grouped view you wish to add.

You would require to install dashboard module from App to be able to use this.

To view planning on work center navigate to Settings > Manufacturing > Operations and enable "Work Orders" option.
