Hello!

We are using Odoo Enterprise 14 in Odoo.sh

We need to update the product location (in the Warehouse) of all of our products (about 1500)... We tried:

- Inventory ->Operations -> Inventory adjustments

- Create new and start inventory (leaving all fields default)

- All products are displayed, so selected all and export (selecting option ' I want to update data (import-compatible export) '.

- We modified the Excel and updated the Location field of every product

- In the same form: Favourites -> Import records

- Select the new excel file and fields are mapped automatically

- The 'test' button don't found any problem, so we applied

- In the form, the Location appears the new location from the new file and look right

- So we validated the inventory

None of the locations has been updated. The 'Product moves' list appears empty.

So, it's seems that this is not the correct way to just update the product location.

What's the correct procedure to mass update all product locations ?

Thanks!

Best regards,

Juan.

Thanks Marc.

I managed to create the csv and fill with the correct information.

Then I go to Inventory ->Operations -> Inventory adjustments  -> Favorites -> Import. I loaded the csv, mapped the fields, and the Test button don't find any error. So, I finalized the import.

Now, I have more than 1500 new Inventory Adjustments lines (one per product in the CSV) with the same name and with status Draft.

Is this correct ?

Hi Juan, once you validate the inventory adjustment it will update the stock quantities with the stock location. I suggest you test it out on a test database to check the import works as you want it.

Hi Marc,

This don't work. I just validated one of the lines, and this created a new location for the product with the same quantities of the older location. The product now have two warehouse locations with the double of quantities. This not updated just the location.

Hi Juan, update the quantity as zero for non existent location.

Hi Marc. But the csv only have the new locations. How can I update quantity as zero for non existent location ?

Best Answer
  1. Generate a CSV import template by exporting an existing inventory adjustment. (use a runbot or trial database)
  2. Export the following fields (Accounting Date, Inventory Reference, Inventories/Product, Inventories/Counted Quantity,  Inventories/Location)
  3. The accounting Date format should be like: mm/dd/yyyy
  4. Inventory Reference is the name for the inventory adjustment
  5. Inventories/Product: AS-IS name of the product (without internal reference)
  6. Inventories/Counted Quantity: The actual stock quantity after the stock count
  7. Inventories/Location: Inventory location created in the system. i.e: WH/Stock, WH/Stock/Shelf 2
