Whenever a customer signs up on my website, my system automatically approves the new user as a portal user . This is intentional, as portal users should have limited access to view specific information on the website and forum. However, after these new users are created, Odoo detects the addition of new users and, for some reason, it starts charging me under the Custom Plan instead of recognizing these users as portal users .

As a result, I am being charged for extra users on a higher subscription plan that I don't need. This is causing unnecessary billing charges, as portal users should not contribute to the user count that affects the Odoo subscription cost.

hello,

This issue likely arises from a misunderstanding in Odoo's user licensing model. Odoo distinguishes between "internal users" and "portal users." Portal users are free and meant for external stakeholders like customers or vendors, while internal users count toward your subscription plan and incur charges.
