Hi everyone!

Exploring ERP Solutions for Manufacturing.

Currently, I'm delving into the realms of 'Pronto' and 'Odoo' as potential ERP solutions for manufacturing operations.

I'd love to tap into the collective wisdom of Odoo network!

Have any of you had experience transitioning from Pronto to Odoo?

I'm keen to understand the nuances, challenges, and successes associated with such a shift. Your insights can be instrumental in shaping our software selection process.

Feel free to share your thoughts, tips, recommendations, positive or negative results.

Thank you and Happy New Year 2024!

I do not know Pronto. But I worked with Odoo 5 years for a manufaturing company after 20 years with SAP/R3 in a large manufacturing company.

Good about Odoo:

  • User interface for work order confirmation
    • Production instructions for operators
  • Integration with Quality Management
  • Integration with PLM
  • Traceability

What I miss:

  • Better functionality for process manufacturing. Odoo process is based on discrete manufacturing.
  • Start up scrap / tear down scrap.
  • More advanced planning and MRP. ( ATP calculation in sales orders).
  • Rework order. Work order processing without component.
    • Split one lot number into to lot numbers

In addtion to look at Odoo documentation https://www.odoo.com/documentation/17.0/applications/inventory_and_mrp/manufacturing.html
