CEO of Odoo
Fabien Pinckaers began combining his love for business and technology from an early age - by 13, he had already created and sold his first piece of business management software for a company called "Les Transports Verts".
Whilst at university studying Computer Science (Louvain-la-Neuve), Fabien completed many projects using including Auction-in-Europe, Openstuff, TinyERP (later known as OpenERP, then Odoo).
Auction-in-Europe became the leader in the belgium art market in only two years, selling 15,000 items of art per month - a figure greater than ebay at the time.
Openstuff was, for a time, the leading European leader Linux store and also sold merchandise including t-shirts and posters. Fabien ran this site until 2007.
The greatest success has been TinyERP (started in March 2002), which grew into OpenERP before transforming into Odoo as it took on more than just Enterprise Resource Planning software. With a lot of hard work and determination, Fabien was able to grow a one-man band of a company (he was the only employee), into a multinational company with offices on three continents and more than 100 employees. Fabien achieved this in eight short years and before the age of 31!
Now Odoo has partners in over 100 countries and more than two million users. Fabien's goal is simple - to provide affordable, easy-to-use, open source, integrated business software so companies can focus on growing their business rather than running it.
A June 2009 edition of Trend Tendances magazine wrote of Fabien, the "New Bill Gates is Belgian". In addition, Fabien has personally and on behalf of Odoo received several awards for business, technology and innovation including:
- "Insead Innovator Prize of the Year (2011)"
- "Trends Gazelle BW (2013)"
- "Deloitte Fast 50 (2012)"
- "Bossie Award (2012)"
- "Manager de l'Année (2020)"
- "Entreprise de l'Année (2021)"
