Hi,


In the Purchase Order screen, there is a "Sales" smart button that when clicked on brings up a view called "Sources Sales Orders PXXXXX" which shows related Sales Orders.


Does anybody know the logic behind this screen?


Currently it is showing multiple Sales Orders, but I can't understand why.  I have checked the procurement groups, the purchase_order_line and sales_order_line relationships.  I have also checked the document source fields and unable to find any relationship that would be making the Sales orders to be appearing in this related list.


Any thoughts?

SOLUTION: Purchase Order "Sales" Smart Button Logic

The "Sales" smart button shows related Sales Orders through stock move traceability, not direct PO-SO links.

The chain: Sales Order → Delivery Move → linked via move_dest_ids → Receipt Move → Purchase Order Line

To find the relationship:
po = env['purchase.order'].browse(YOUR_PO_ID)
related_sos = po.order_line.mapped('move_ids.move_dest_ids.sale_line_id.order_id')
print("Related SOs:", related_sos.mapped('name'))

Why multiple SOs appear: Multiple sales orders trigger procurement for the same product (MTO), stock moves
get linked through replenishment, or dropship orders share the same PO. The
relationship is stored in stock.move via move_dest_ids (destination moves) and sale_line_id fields, not in procurement groups or document origins.

Check manually: Open PO → Products tab → Click product line → View Stock Moves → Check "Destination Move" → Find linked Sales Order Line.
