Hi all... I wonder is anyone can point me in the right direction. I'm still very new to Odoo, so have only just scratched the surface with most of it so far. I also don't understand any Python, but will be happy to learn bits if it's necessary to gain more control over Odoo.
Anyway - some products we have can have a multitude of upgrades or adaptions. Therefore, Product A is customisable in terms of colour, size, but also added components that can be fitted to the basic product. Doing this with variants gives a vast array of different permutations, which really doesn't work for me (when creating the Quotation/Sales Order).
I also need the Sales Order to list all aspects of the product build one below the other, itemising the cost for each element in turn
Therefore, is there a way whereby I can create a product with only Colour and Size as a variant, then the other components exist as a separate option, which can simply be ticked and then pulled into the Sales Order?
I'll leave it at that, as I don't want to over complicate things, but please do ask if I've not quite explained it well enough.

try to use "suggested products". For example it could be giftw wrapping, metallic paint etc. The disadvantage would be that you would have to create the suggested products for each main product (metallic paint would have different price for a car and for the lorry).
I know couple companies that are using BOM for that purpose - where one product is made from couple different pieces.
