Odoo 11: CRM Views different in #InBox and CRM

1. Run Odoo 11 from runbot

2. CRM

    Page title shows "Pipeline" and the New column shows "Plan to buy 60 keyboards and mouses"

3. Click on the item and it will show the form view. There are options "New Quotation", "Mark Won", "Mark Lost" on the left and the workflow options "Qualified", "Proposition" and "Won" on the right side of the menu.

4. Click Discuss page

5. Click on the "Activities" icon (beside the login profile on the top right of the page) and click on "Lead/Opportunity" from the list to bring up the "Lead/Opportunity" page, i.e. page title shows "#Inbox / Lead/Opportunity". The page will list records based on the filter "Late Activities or Today Activities"

6. Delete the filter and you can see the "Plan to buy 60 keyboards and mouses" on the New column.

7. Click on the item to go to the Form view for the item.

The menu options and workflows are missing here. Can we not access the work flow or other options from the InBox or Discuss page ? My understanding is that the activites icon is to allow users quick access to activities. Is this an issue/bug or this is a normal behaviour ?

I would log this with Odoo.  Activities are new to version 11 and I think you should expect to be able to Quote and Mark Opportunities like regardless of how you open them.

The reason this is happening is the sequence of crm.lead.form.opportunity is higher than the sequence for crm.lead.form.lead so you are being shown the form view AS IF you were opening a LEAD.

Changing the sequence on crm.lead.form.opportunity to lower than the sequence on crm.lead.form.lead (or dragging crm.lead.form.opportunity above crm.lead.form.lead in the Views menu under Settings --> Technical --> User Interface) resolves this if you have not checked "LEADS - Add a qualification step before creating an opportunity". (I just haven't tested if this change affects which FORM view is used when you open a Lead).

Thanks Ray. Your answer just explained why newly created Leads from our V11 website were displaying as Opportunities (already converted) if you clicked on the link for them from the inbox in Discuss, but as Leads when accessed via the CRM app. The change of sequence fix worked as well!
