We have products configured as MTO, suppliers are set on the product and when I create a sales order, Odoo also creates the procurement but the procurement goes on status exception with "No rule matching this procurement" message. When I edit the procurement and add the Buy rule to it, it runs through and creates the PO as it should. But I don't find the setting where I can set it that it inherits this setting for all future procurements. Any ideas?

Hi,
1)If you select route as MTO, then selection of route BUY is always necessary.
2)This is because supplies any how whether you maintain an inventory or not requires to be bought from suppliers.
3) As in case of MTO, Purchase Orders would be generated against your Sales Order,hence if you don't check the BUY route,then Purchase Orders would not be generated and hence no procurement resulting non functioning of your MTO route.

This is very interesting. How would you configure Water, which just comes from the tap? Analyzing it thoroughly, I think there is missing a default route (such as MTO, BUY), which covers such utility cases, isn't it? I can think of: Water, Gas, Process Heat (through heat pipeline). Anyone else has an opinion on this?
Have you checked the Buy route (above where you checked Make to Order) on the product?
Is it supposed to work like check both routes? That doesn't make sense to me! There must be some other configuration to get MTO working automatically.
