Good day

I have managed to import contacts into OpenERP from a previous CRM system quite successfully. However I did all the preparation in advance and brought in single csv files. Now I need to import an additional address from the same system into the existing contacts in OpenERP. I have the external_id available and I can match on that field however I cannot import with an empty NAME field. As stated I just need to import an address and since the original import the "name" field may have been updated in OpenERP and cannot be overwritten now. How could I get around this?

Thanks

Just reimport the name too. As long as you have the correct id, records are updated, not added.

Sorry, too fast, I do edit :

You have to export (id - by default) and (updated) names from OpenERP in a CSV or XLS file. Then you can add the updated names in your addresses file (the Libreoffice/Excel command VLOOKUP should do the trick) with the id as index.

You can also try the "Mass Editing" Module which I am just now testing. It is functional if you want to update a number of records to the SAME value. Ideally you could display your data in a spread and just update like a Spreadsheet but that is not available that I know of. This technique should work. Good to know about :)
