Hi

is it possible to downgrade the number of users in odoo enterprise easily?

For example: I start with 5 Users/ 18€ per month. After 1 year an employee leaves the company, gets fired etc..

Can I just inactivate the user and inform odoo?

Hi Benjamin,


When you buy the enterprise licenses you buy them for a specific time, usually this is one or three years. If you've bought 18 licenses for one year you won't be able to get a refund if a user quits for example. If you deactivate the user you can use one of those 18 users you've paid for again. So in short: refund? No. Reuse the user? Yes.

On a sidenote: you can always buy extra users easily so you're probably better off buying exactly what you need in users and buy more when you need them.

On a sidenote: I'm 100% sure about this for enterprise licenses on side or for a partner. It might be slightly different on the Odoo SaaS itself. You could double check this with sales@odoo.com

Reuse the user? Yes
How can we reuse by rename? by user ID does not allow to change, the only name we can change. this there any way to reuse?

Hello Muhammad

I would recommend you to archive/deactivate the old user and create a new one. This way you are still using the same amount of users and also all the records created by the old user can still be seen under his name.
