I am trying to adjust the Odoo 16 Full Accounting Module to be able to import my banks custom statements.

However, I am receiving the following error while trying to create a statement line:

You can't create a new statement line without a suspense account set on the General journal.

However, it's not possible to create a suspense account for a journal of type general.

If I delete the General journal, the error changes to

You can't create a new statement line without a general journal.


Any ideas what this is caused by?

Hi Dominik, did you ever figure out the root cause for this error? I ám able to import bank statements in odoo 16, but i am getting the exact same error when adding a line item to an imported bank statement.

You probably have to set a suspence account in the Configuration of your bank.

I remember that we had to set it up there to be able to import bank statements.
