If I send a quotation to a customer, my message is logged as a message, but if the customer replies his messages is logged as a note, so it doesn't trigger a notification.
Is there any way to have it logged as a message to notify the salesman of the answer ?

We have the same problem.
Notifications in Odoo are enabled. However, no notification to sales person when a customer replies to an opportunity. The customers’ mail is logged is a note In the opportunity.
We need to check all opportunities by hand to check wether we have customer responding.

Did you find a resolution to your issue? I have the same problem.
If a customer REPLIES to the email I sent them (via Odoo quotation), I get NO NOTIFICATION of a response. It would be nice if i received an email to my regular mailbox.

The problem is that the reply message doesn't show in any notification, not even in the inbox history.
It's just logged as a note in the order chatter.
Would you know if the user is a follower of that document and has subscribed to discussions? To be notified of a reply
If the user preference is set to notifications "in odoo" they receive the notification in inbox (and on marking as read is available in history); if they set to "by Email" then they would be notified through email
A user can choose how they wish to receive notifications, by Email or in Odoo, This can be set by user in 'preferences' by clicking their name top right of the screen.
All notifications are also available in the discuss app - Inbox / history
