Connection error when setting up mail server for incoming and outgoing on Odoo 12

Question

Hello,
I would like to be able to send and receive emails to clients from my website. When I enter  the details below, I get this connection error. I am currently just using a regular Gmail account, am I suppose to be using G suite one? or is this another issue?

"Connection Test Failed! Here is what we got instead:
-3 Temporary failure in name resolution"

Details filled in
Incoming Mail Server
Server Type: POP Server
Server Name: imap.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 995
Connection Security: SSL/TLS

You need to change the Server Type: POP Server to Server Type: IMAP Server.
Did you also enable your Gmail to allow Less secure apps to login to your Gmail?

Hello James,
I have switched the server type to IMAP and I have also enabled Gmail to allow less secure apps.
I have tried both POP and IMAP server but I get the same communication error.
Connection test failed: -3
Temporary failure in name resolution
