When trying to print anything that contains a barcode - for example the picking operations or a label I get an error message instead of the expected paperwork. Am I missing a dependency? On Odoo 15 Community Edition.
Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software.
It includes hundreds of business apps:
- CRM
- e-Commerce
- Účtovníctvo
- Sklady
- PoS
- Project
- MRP

The main error is coming from the reportlab python library which could be the root cause.
Error:
File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/reportlab/graphics/renderPM.py", line 309, in toPIL
getattr(im,'frombytes',getattr(im,'fromstring'))(self._gs.pixBuf)
AttributeError: 'Image' object has no attribute 'fromstring'
I would suggest to uninstall and install the library again or follow the Yenthe Odoo Installation script for the setup.
I guess this issue arises due to the variation of the Pillow package.
try to install earlier version of PIllow.
tried in default cc edition. works. what add ons have you and etc. maybe some things you do and after that it started?
Hi Mindaugas, thanks for taking the time to answer. It's a fairly fresh install - we're just testing so I haven't done much with it. Our installed apps are: sales, invoicing, purchase, inventory. We don't even need to barcodes so if it's possible to turn off them being printed on the picking sheet that would be fine also.
check are these modules instaled, try to uninstall.
Module Name Technical Name
Barcode stock_barcode
Barcode - GS1 Nomenclature barcodes_gs1_nomenclature
MRP Barcode stock_barcode_mrp
as i understand, you have community v. and these are enterprise., you maybe made changes in inventory/configuration/setting/use barcode scaner
Hi Mindaugas, we don't appear to have any of those modules installed and no barcode settings activated anywhere as far as I can tell.
sorry, seem, that i did not looked at your situation. seems it will be this template to correct.
