Hi all,

I am trying to add a field on hr_expense_view_form from my custom module. When I try to install the module I get:


odoo.tools.convert.ParseError: while parsing file:/c:/program%20files/odoo%2016.0.20230223/server/odoo/addons/vat_mileage/views/hr_expense_views.xml:4, somewhere inside

            hr.expense.view.form.inherited
            hr.expense

Please see a sample of inheriting this view and compare it with your view:

thank you, I manage to sort it out and now I see the field and everything, but the field is not doing the compute...

I need that only for the expenses that are per unit price

@api.depends('total_amount')
    def _compute_x_total_price_divided_by_6(self):
        for expense in self:
                expense.x_total_price_divided_by_6 = expense.total_amount / 6

Hello Nick,

If you want to add a field in hr_expense_view_form, try to check your code with below sample code.

<record id="name_for_your_action" model="ir.ui.view">
    <field name="name">hr.expense.inherit.form.name</field>
    <field name="model">hr.expense</field>
    <field name="inherit_id" ref="hr_expense.hr_expense_view_form"/>
    <field name="priority">30</field>
    <field name="arch" type="xml">
        <xpath expr="//field[@name='analytic_distribution']" position="before">
            <field name="your_field_name"/>
        </xpath>
    </field>
</record>


Here specify the position of field before/after or inside and give correct path for your field in 'expr'.
