Is it possible to translate "Knowledge" articles and make them available and/or publish them in different languages?

There's currently no integrated functionality to offer "knowledge" articles in different languages. And reading the release notes to Odoo v17 there won't be an integrated solution any time soon. I can see the following workarounds:

1) Have an article structure that starts with a language code and create and nest every single language-specific article under that "url". The results are precise as it only depends on your personal (partners') effort and translation quality.

2) Use an online translation service like Google Translate (Go to Google Translate, switch to "Webseite") or Google GPT Translate to translate the current article. To enhance the translation quality, especially with technical articles, some translation providers allow for a personal glossary.

Unfortunately I currently also don't see a simple way to have a language switch button or link integrated into the knowledge frontend, so you'ld need to lead customers to the interface of e.g. "Google Translate" and might loose the TOC functionality on the left side - or you'ld need to put a generic link to the Google Translate entry point on every single article. I highly assume tho, that a programmer could add such a "language switcher" into the knowledge apps' frontend.

I very much hope, that Odoo will integrate multilanguage functionality into the knowledge app very soonTM. Something like the Webscript "wiki.js" does pretty well.

Yes, it is possible to translate "Knowledge" articles in Odoo and make them available in different languages.

Here are a few ways you can accomplish this:

  1. You can use the built-in translation feature in Odoo to translate the "Knowledge" articles. This feature allows you to create translations for different languages of the same article.

  2. You can use the "Website Publisher" app to create multi-language website and publish the "Knowledge" articles in different languages.

  3. You can use the "Website Form Builder" app to create a form to submit the translation of articles and then use the "Website Form" app to show the translated articles.

  4. You can use the "Website Multi Language" app, which allows you to create different versions of the website in different languages.

  5. You can use the "website_multi_language" module, which is an official module of odoo, it allows you to create multi-language website and translate the articles.

Please note that the availability of the above options depends on the version of Odoo you are running and if these modules are installed or not.

Then could you please explain how? Can you provide a screen capture?
My Odoo instance has 2 different languages installed and I don't see any "built-in translation feature" for the Knowledge app.
