Hello All

We are a growing clothing company specializing in high-quality apparel.

Our product line includes a variety of styles, with each item available in multiple color and size variants.

As we continue to expand our inventory, we are looking to streamline our product and inventory management.

Currently, we are exploring the use of Odoo’s powerful ERP system to handle our clothing variants efficiently. Our primary focus is managing product variants based on:

Color options (e.g., black, white, navy, etc.)

Size options (e.g., XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL, 6XL, 7XL etc.)

We are looking for guidance on the following:

Correct format 1 for importing product data (check the below screenshot of Import file field name from Column A TO F )

Correct format 2 for importing product data (check the below screenshot of Import file field name from Column A TO K)

Correct format 3 for importing product data (check the below screenshot of Import file field name from Column A TO M)

I Want to understand which one format of import file is good for us to import product data on oddo 18?

what is recommend while creating new product in odoo Format 1 (A to F) Format 2 (A - K), Format 03 (A to M)

what are the pros and cons of each method?

Considering all attribute value , and other required detail which one format is correct and most useful while importing products on odoo 18?

Another recommendation: Do it in several steps.  And do it in a test database to check what you get. There are other data also that is not covered in your template, like product category and accounts. Odoo will fill in default value.   Check out what product category controls. You might want to have more than one.

First just the basic data into Product Template.  Like format2.

Then create art least one product with the attributes and export it. That way you get the correct format for uploading attributes.

Export all products with the option to update. This will add an XML value to identify each product record, and you can mass update products.

Recommendation :

Considering that your business focuses on multiple product variants based on color and size, Format 3 (A to M) is likely the best option for you. This format will allow you to capture all the necessary attributes, ensuring that your inventory and product data are detailed enough for efficient management within Odoo 18.

Format 3 (A to M): The most comprehensive but requires careful management and more time to handle.
