Thank you for the response, I apologize for being unclear in my first example. The URL from was external as the entire Domain was originally directed to Shopify, we moved everything but the store to Odoo just recently. The long range goal is to eventually move Shopify, but because of the Walmart integration with Shopify, we have not budgeted to directly integrate Walmart into Odoo, nor have we budgeted to set up all the other integrations (taxjar, payment processing, shipping, etc) into the Odoo store.

What this has left us with is all of our www.domain.com/products need to be redirected to www.domain.myshopify.com/products as well as those links coming in on root domain.
It doesn't seem to take the old inbound url (which was never in Odoo) and redirect (301) back to outbound external domain .
Wit regard to going to 15 we are awaiting advisement from our outside consultant on moving. There are a number of custom modules that are business critical they have written that would need to be vetted first.
