So I have a series of apps that were preinstalled for us

SALES - where we keep track of our sales

PURCHASES - where we keep track of our vendor purchase orders

CONTACTS - where we keep track of our customers and their profile info

These are linked so that not only can you go back and forth between them without going back to app dashboard, but also it shows you a count of how many purchase orders a specific sale has and vice verse. And on contacts it shows you how many sales orders that customer has and allows you to view them.

I am making a new APP called CLAIMS, and am having difficulties being able to give similar function so that on a specific SALES ORDER you can see how many claims are open AND be able to navigate to the claims straight there. As well as when looking at a customer to be able to see how many claims they have and navigate straight there.

I have looked at tutorial videos and am still somewhat stuck.

For some reason when I go to make the icon in top right corner there is no related field to select to SALES or PURCHASE, but when I look at sales and purchase they have each other as related fields even though separate apps so I know it should be possible.

I also cannot find claims in the related field when i look at SALES or PUCHASE.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi alex,

The button at the top right corner of the form is called 'Smart button'

For a smart button to be linked to your current app, you need to add a many2one of your said app to the Purchase and Sales. The way for the count to go up in a specific form. You also need to add a value on the many2one back at the Purchase and Sales order so your form and the 2 other forms can relate to each other.
