Is there a way to add a freight out charge to the margin calculation of gross margin much like adding a landed freight cost to incoming inventory from a 3rd party freighter? I have a freight price on the sales invoice and would like to offset the actual freight charge in the calc of gross margin.

With the Margins - Show margins on orders option activated in the Configuration Menu of the Sales App, you get this:
1 - margin for the line item based on the product sales price and the product cost.
2 - margin for the order based on the total of the sales prices for each line ($85) minus the total of the cost prices for each line ($54.95) divided by the total of the sales prices for each line.
Note: you can also see that you can edit the cost of the freight.
So what you get then is a margin per product (1) and a margin per order (2). In this example the margin on the product is 40% but since the margin on the Freight is 0.5%, the overall order margin is 35.35%
Given this, what needs to be different? I am unclear on what you are asking.
