The help text in Odoo for account valuation on locations are:
"Used for real-time inventory valuation. When set on a virtual location (non internal type), this account will be used to hold the value of products being moved from an internal location into this location, instead of the generic Stock Output Account set on the product. This has no effect for internal locations."
So if the two Warehouses / Locations are in the same company, the valuation is the same, and no need for posting in accounting.
Hello,
inter-warehouse transit location is used for transfer between two separate internal location which means it does not affect accounting, it also holding quantity in stock.quant layer and does not affect inventory valuation layer
only dealing with location of those types will create accounting entries :
- vendor location -> internal or vice versa in RETURN
- internal location -> customer location vice versa in RETURN
- inventory adjustment location with type "Inventory loss" and setting intermediate accounts on that location "will override category stock intern received / delivered accounts"
- production location with type "production"
and setting intermediate accounts on that location
"will override category stock intern received / delivered accounts"
hope this will help.
