Dear all,

we want to setup new odoo for handling very basic business operations : sales, accounting, purchase, inventory. Community edition is more than enough for us. but we don't know much what is the different 10 or 11 , which is more stable. .

Thank you

Hi John,

Odoo v11 is a latest version and is more faster compare to previous versions. But it is still not 100% stable and you could face bugs as well and also there are not all OCA / third party modules available in v11. Odoo also moved many community modules to enterprise in v11.

You can try v10 and v11 on runbot.

Compare to v10, it is more stable, most of the OCA / third party modules are available.

Hope this will help you a bit.

Hi,

what do you mean by "Odoo also moved many community modules to enterprise in v11.", could you please specify any feature available in Odoo 10 and not in Odoo 11.

Thanks

Hi K-john,

I wanted to add some more information alongside the answer of Sudhir. A good reason to choose for V11 is probably for later upgrades. Odoo 11 is the latest version at the moment and version 12 will be launched in october. If you would now use and configure Odoo V10 you'd already be two versions behind in october, which is quite fast.
If you want to save yourself one upgrade already then it might be a good argument to take Odoo 11. As for the response about it not being 100% stable: that is a fact but even V10 has some open issues. The best part is that they'll get fixed and that the priority for bug reports and issues is on V11.
From a technical point of view Odoo now runs Python 3 which is faster and there is a whole new JavaScript framework. If you'd take version 11 you would have all of this available out of the box. If you would need custom development you won't need the migration from Python 2 to Python 3 and from the old JavaScript framework to the new one.

Yenthe
