Shops need to continue selling even if the Internet connection is lost. To do so, an “offline” feature was developed within the Point of Sale app. This allows to access POS basic features, in order to continue your sales. Features which depends on the backend will be accessible when retrieving your Internet connection. But concretely, which features are NOT available offline?
Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software.
It includes hundreds of business apps:
- CRM
- e-Commerce
- Accounting
- Inventory
- PoS
- Project management
- MRP

When losing your Internet connection, the POS remains operational for basic features that are not dependent on the backend (for instance: pos order creation, discount computation, etc.).
The backend (= Odoo database, when your POS session is closed) needs Internet connection to work. POS features which depend on the backend will then be accessible when retrieving your Internet connection. These main features are:
Generate invoices
Access quotations/orders from the Sales and eCommerce apps
Stock synchronization in real-time
Product information
