Hi all, I have been a member of this forum for quite some time and would like to get pointers as to where to find other help/forum/thread apart from this community forum ?

It would be great to share this information, as more source means more help / community discussion going on

Cheers,

If you are willing to do a bit of homework before asking a question - you will be welcomed on the #openobject IRC channel on FREENODE.

Basically you tell them the problem along with how you have tried and failed to find a solution on your own - then someone will very likely come to your rescue.

Thanks a lot James White, so far your response has been the most useful

I usually go to github/overflowstack, really rarely use IRC channel. Will definitely be doing that near future

I find github issues are too technical

stack overflow a little

this forum ... too general, scattered all over the place. finding needles in haystack, at times dead-end too

This forum is for getting specific help. If you want to discuss broader topics, you can use the mailing lists. And there are many other sources to find in the internet, Google is your friend.

well Google is my best friend. however sometimes it could lead to dead-end too. not everything is searchable by Google unfortunately ... unless the AI regime really take over. but it really is a different era lol

it'd be nice for community to voice what other resource they usually use to learn Odoo. For example, I find the docs here at the official web sometimes just too general

Well, that's all there is. There are the well known books, but you'll find them also on Google. And the ultimative source of help is the code itself.
