Hi all,

I'm trying to set up 3 kitchen printer and 1 receipt printer in a posboxless configuration.  I've successfully configured the receipt printer, but I cannot get working the kitchen printers.

I'm using the following:

-Ubuntu 16

-Odoo V9c

-4 thermal printers with ethernet and usb ports ( they are generic, but epson compatible)

-1 router

I have connected the kichten printers to the router through LAN connection, and the receipt printer to the usb port in the ubuntu pc. The ububtu pc is also connected to the router, and all devices were configured in the same network (I can ping and access all the printers from the pc). I don't have a posbox, therefore, I've set up the posboxless configuration. I got working the receipt printer (the one with usb connection), but I cannot get working the kitchen printers. However, playing around,  I found out that using my receipt printer with both usb and LAN connection(plus changing some parameters in the pos configuration page) , I can use this printer as order printer as well, but the intention is to use a separate printer for the kitchen orders, as they are located in a separate location.  Can I only use one printer in a posboxless configuration? Do I need one posbox per printer, even though I'm using only one POS? Can I use ethernet only thermal printers for kitchen orders?

If some one can guide me, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Hi i have done multiple printer setups. You will not be able to use an ethernet direct printer. Each of your printer will required a POSBOX or a machine with posboxless config if im not wrong

Hi Chyn,

Thanks for the feedback.

Do you know if there is a workaround solution for it? Or do I need to develop a new module?

At the moment, i do not have any solutions beside having a POS box for every printer

There is a workaround that enables you to use an ordinary linux system as a posbox. Here is the complete guide https://www.odoo.com/documentation/user/9.0/point_of_sale/overview/setup.html#posboxless-guide-advanced
