Our company has two divisions - a machine shop (which would be well-suited to OpenERP) and a field service division that sells, maintains, and repairs industrial compressors.

Has anyone integrated a field service management solution with OpenERP?

Hi Kent, can you share some more information? We are looking for a good implementation (best of breed) of a more mature field services management product like ServiceM8.

We use ServiceM8 - https://sm8.link/dbjdgwa

We're using a custom Odoo v9 module that we have been developing with the help of an Odoo partner, that integrates directly with ServiceM8 by pulling from/pushing to the ServiceM8 API.

Might be a good idea to try ServiceM8 first and see if the job management/dispatch functionality meets your needs. You can signup for free and get your first 20 jobs/work orders free each month using this link:

We have our CRM and product catalogue maintained within Odoo and field dispatch/management in ServiceM8. Work orders, customers, addresses that are created in ServiceM8 either in the office or in the field are fetched/imported into Odoo and then sent back to ServiceM8 as quotes/sales orders. Jobs can then be invoiced/paid either through Odoo or ServiceM8.
