I have 2 accounts in the COA which are view types:

1.1.05 Inventory in Transit        >>>.   Inventory

1.3.02 Anticipated Expenses   >>>.   Deferred Assets

When I generate the Balance Sheet the headings I created for those accounts show up but their value is 0 in both cases.

HEADINGS IN FINANCIAL REPORTS
http://www.santiapps.com/assets/odoo/uploadOdooCOA4.png - shows the 2 headings I created in the Financial Reports menu.

ACCOUNTS INSIDE HEADINGS

http://www.santiapps.com/assets/odoo/uploadOdooCOA5(&6).png - shows the individual accounts added to the above mentioned headings.  Each is created with Parent=Assets and Type=Accounts so I can select the individual accounts (1.1.05 & 1.3.02). 

ACCOUNT DETAILS

http://www.santiapps.com/assets/odoo/uploadOdooCOA2(&3).png - shows the details of the accounts according to the COA(1.1.05 & 1.3.02).

Here are the account types in the COA and the Financial Report structure.  However those 2 accounts (view types) above are empty.
