I'm not seeing the ability to sell or list a product by the pound in version 8 and I'm not really finding much information on web about it either... 

Example; we sell a case of beef, but the case is by weight and will use "catch-weight" but I need to list the product forsale by the pound and the ability to adjust the case weight to match...

I remember in version 6 it was possible but I also don't remember if I can change every case during recievership? Each incoming case will list the weight on the incoming shipment so, can my forman tag each case in the system for tracking or do we use "catch-weight" during the pick ticket and adjust the system for delivery?

Hi Scott,

I think you can use the unit of measure for this purpose.

I understood that you need to select the quantity as How many pounds? instead of using other units.

In Odoo you can define your own unit of measure for this purpose. For that you have to do the following:-

1. Go to Settings==>Warehouse--> Warehouse and Location and enable

     Manage different units of measure for products

2. Then you can define your own UOM from:-

    Warehouse==>Configuration ==> Units of Measure
