hi all,

created a normal user through odoo's default signup form, checked contents in res_users, but not found 2 things, the 'name' field value and the default group it assigned to the newly created user, how i can query / know where are these values? and how these can be modified if needed?

note: in Settings -> Users -> Manage Users i can't see this new user

Hi,

Res.users model is created by inheriting the model res.partner using the delegation inheritance, so if you tried to access the field like name using the query you will not get it(you will get column does not exist error), instead you have to LEFT JOIN the res.users table with res.partner table based on the partner_id field in res.users table and get the name from the partner model.

The partner_id field in the res.users model holds the id of the corresponding partner record.
